This is my favourite part of Halloween. Over the years I've carved some pretty cool pumpkins and I cannot wait to do it again this year.
So how I go about doing my pumpkin carving is I search Pinterest for quite a while for ideas. Pick one. Draw it onto the pumpkin. Remove the inside (in reality get Glenn to remove the inside, I hate the feel of it) and start carving.
So here are some tips for carving your pumpkins:
Get a pumpkin with a stem
Have a plan
Leave the top of the pumpkin, we cut a hole in the back of the pumpkin instead
Make sure you remove all of the goop inside, if you leave any it will grow mould
Coat the inside of your pumpkin with petroleum jelly to last longer
Use lights instead of candles, like a red bicycle light
Not into carving pumpkins then why not use as a vase, cut out the top, take out the goop, fill a bag with a bit of water and flowers and place inside
Take your time, be patient
Pop your cuttings out from pushing the inside of the pumpkin
Use a toothpick to secure any broken pieces
Happy Carving!!
