Caring for yourself in order to care for others.....

In these crazy times self care is one of the most important things we can do. I have had moment's where I've had to stop, breathe and say ok I need to calm myself and do something for me.
After days of doing two jobs (half of each to be fair) juggling being a full time mammy, keeping the house tidy and all mouths fed, studying and working full time.
If you don't put some time aside for yourself you will burn out quickly.

Here are some ways I like to take some time for me:
1. Have a long soak and pamper
I have made it part of my Sunday routine to have a soak and pamper on a Sunday Night, which includes fresh bedsheet's (Obviously!).
I am in love with the Radox range of Sleep Aromatherapy Calm Your Mind Lavender Bath Salts, Shower Gel and Bath Oil. Teamed up with the calming lavender bath bomb and Lavender feel relaxed bubble bath.
Also if I'm really spoiling myself I do a face mask and hair mask with new PJ's. (Obviously new PJ's don't happen every weekend - I wish!!).

2. Go for a walk while listening to music
Anyone who know's me will know I'm not big on fitness or walking voluntarily but if I need to clear my head a walk is perfect because as much as I resist it I do love going for a walk.
Turn on my favorite tunes, as of lately bring Coco with me for a stroll and just breathe in the fresh air.

3. Manicure and Pedicure
This is an ultimate treat and can be done properly in a Beauty Salon or a cheaper self done version.
I swear by Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish, it turns out very shellac like. I like to get the foot moisturizer socks and have a steep. Afterward's its so relieving looking at my fresh nails!!

4. Do something you haven't done in a long time
Think of something you keep saying you are going to do for you, like bake a cake, visit somewhere that's been on your list or buy yourself something that you have been thinking about for a long time.
My most recent thing would have been making my own oil diffuser's. It was quite simple and it gives me a little sense of pride every time I smelled it.

5. Watch a feel good film
This is my go to, I do this one more frequently. Watch a feel good film, switch off from life and dive into someone else's.
I did this recently and watched The Holiday, my god I love that film and if you haven't seen it then add it to your watch list!!

Turn the light's off, get out the junk food, a comfy blanket and find that cozy spot on the sofa surrounded by cushions.
Let me know what you like to do for self care....
