We didn't need another reason to love owl Dolly but she gave us one anyway. Dolly Parton created her imagination library back in 1995 in Tennessee and then introduced it to Ireland as the 5th country to adopt Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in 2019.

Registered children can receive book a month from birth, delivered to their home address beginning with the book 'TiN' by Chris Judge which is one of Logan's favourite books, it is very colourful and a great starter book. I was quite lucky that Logan's Grandad signed him up before he was even born, which I'm 100% positive is the reason Logan loves his books now.

By the time children have graduated the programme at the age of 5 they will have amassed a collection of 60 books, with the final book being 'The Selfish Giant' by Oscar Wilde. The books are selected by the Gold Medal Book Selection Committee and each title is chosen to meet the needs of the child in the pivotal stages of development.
This programme has been launched also in Canada, United Kingdom and Australia. There is currently 1,650,612 kids registered and 141,840,454 books mailed.
Dolly was inspired by her fathers inability to read and write and wanted to provide a head start for other kids, as reading to children young have many benefits including helping with speech development and helps build key language, literacy and social skills.
“When I was growing up in the hills of East Tennessee, I knew my dreams would come true. I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They dream of becoming a doctor or an inventor or a minister. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl whose dream is to be a writer and singer.
The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”
Also on a personal note, I feel its a great bonding moment, both myself and Glenn cuddle up with Logan each night before bedtime and read him 2 books before bed and it is my favourite time of the day.
I have attached the link below where you can sign up however as far as I am aware it is only available to Dublin 24 but you can request to be notified when it comes to your area.
