My Top 5 Newborn must haves

Its been a minute since Logan was a newborn but there is a few thing's that when asked what would I recommend buying I always go to.

Angelcare AC327 Baby Movement Monitor with Video

This is the newer version of the one I had for Logan. I'm a big advocate for these, as we lost my nephew at 17 months old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The monitor’s alarm will only sound if no movement is detected after 20 seconds letting parents relax.

I only recently had to stop using Logan's at 18 months because he loves sleeping on his pillow which was setting it off constantly throughout the night but I was very uneased when I stopped using it because of the relief of using it had given me.

It had a great camera/monitor which we still use and as far as I know the newer versions also have a mic and speaker so you can talk to your baby or shush them back to sleep without having to enter their room.

It has multiple functions, one is it shows the temperature in the room and you can set an alarm if the room drops or rises above a certain temperature.

Joie Excursion Change & Rock Travel Cot

This travel cot is also a changing unit and rocking seat.

When we bought this we set it up in the corner and it was amazing. We had somewhere to change the baby without having to do it on the sofa which lets be honest nobody wants the fear of a messy poo on your new sofa. It has a rocking chair with a strap which was great if he had fallen asleep in my arms and I needed to put him down for a few minutes and I also used the bottom part as storage.

Then as he got older it was where he had his naps during the day, a play pen and even at time's we threw the balls from his ball pool into it for him.

It also played lullaby's, nature sound's and had vibration settings to help soothe the little bundle.

When they outgrow it, it folds away so neatly and easily.

Babylo Milan Glider Chair and Footstool - White and Grey

This was a Christmas gift from Glenn when I was pregnant and I love it still. I used to sit in it when I was pregnant to relieve pains and sciatica, I sat it in with Logan as a newborn to rock him asleep and even now I sit in it to read Logan a book.

I wont lie sometime his teddy's use it more than I do but I will hopefully have this for a long time.

It is very comfortable and stylish. It has a side pocket for late night feedings if you wanted to keep necessities in the side or even a book or two when they get older.

Gro Grofriend Ollie the Owl - Light and Sound Sleep Aid

The Ollie the Owl is still being used 18 months on and a million batteries later but it is a life saver. Logan from as soon as he left the womb, loved listening to white noise. It soothed him and helped him sleep.

Ollie the Owl not only has 4 soothing sounds, a night light on its tummy and volume buttons but also played it for 20 minutes and then turned itself off, with an automatic crying function that once the baby woke, cried or moved it set itself off again for another 20 minutes.

This used to knock Logan back asleep before he had a chance to wake up fully, and when he got older he would actually sit up and turned it on himself and went back to sleep.

it is definitely a must have and is one of my top baby shower/new baby gifts. Smyths even does a cute bundle with this, the gro egg which tells the temperature in the room, a comforter and sleeping bag set.

VTech Push and Ride Alphabet Train Red

Here's a less vital and more of a fun one. Santa got Logan this last Christmas when he was 9 months old and he still absolutely adores this. It has so many different functions. The can use it as a walker, a scoot along, a pull along and a sit down to play item.

It has blocks that you can slot into the side and it tells them the alphabet, there is also a shoot on the top of the train and the blocks shoot from the top and into the trailer which Logan loves at the minute, everything he can fit into it gets put in, soothers and other toys, food you name it (just remember to have a little look no and again, he had fit 5 soothers in before I realized what happened and was searching high and low for them).

It teaches them objects, animals, phonics, letters, colour's, weather and numbers. It plays 4 sing along songs and 10 melodies.

It also features a removable walkie- talkie and number pad, a magic tunnel to load the blocks into the wagon, light-up piano keys, turning book and colourful beads and cogs.

From the minute he saw it, he loved it. It was worth every penny and was cheap enough at €48.99 currently.
