Working from home with a toddler

At the beginning it was much easier, I used to brag about how easy it was and then he start walking ha and my lord I quickly learned why people were complaining so much.
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't change it for the world but my god there were days when Glenn would come through the front door and I would be like 'take him, I need a break' mainly because he knew if he did bold things I would come over to him which turned into us giving out to each other all day.
He started creche on Monday full time and I already miss him so much.
Working from home with a toddler was unfair to him just as much as it was for me ha. I felt for him, he wanted mammy's attention all the time and unfortunately he couldn't get it all the time, but I learned some tricks to balance the two. I used to work with him on my lap and I would have the laptop to the right of me typing with my right hand. When I had breaks, he got my undivided attention. The laptop was put away and mammy was on the ground playing with blocks or whatever it was that had his attention at the time.
The naps were the life savers, he still has 2 hour naps every day so I would be my most productive when he went down for a nap. I would catch up on whatever delays I would have accumulated while giving him his meals and changing his bum.
It is do-able and stressful but 100% do-able. You may not be able to give 100% to work and 100% to parenting but it was all down to routine and planning. We had a good routine down and it really helped because Logan knew what was due to happen next and he seems to deal better with routines.
I do feel guilty sending him to creche while I'm home but its just not fair on him that I'm glued to my laptop trying to meet deadlines and he has nobody to play with. The joy of it is if I am ahead of my schedule I can go pick him up early and he has an opportunity to play with kids his own age.
Keep tuned, I will let you know how we both pan out. I know it will be harder for me than it will be for him...
