On a Saturday morning, I was up with Logan while Glenn was having is designated lie in (we take turns), it was raining out and I really needed to get out for the day. So I dug out my phone and started googling.
I came across the National Reptile Zoo a few times and said ok today is the day and if we are going we need to be ready to go as soon as Glenn got up because it was an hours drive away. So off we went and got ready.
We are a fan of an owl road trip so that was a lovely start, not too far but away from Dublin we got for a change.
I was surprised when we pulled into an industrial site but in we went and we loved every second of it, we went in January before the world shat itself, so it was quite straight forward, we went in got our ticket, the girl at the desk explained the times they are taking the reptiles out for their animal encounter sessions and where we can find everything.
The experience was great and Logan was fascinated looking at all of them and they were the perfect height for him which most places we visited when he was that age he couldn't see anything.

They are open 10 days a week between 10am to 6pm, with over 50 exhibits, Animal Encounter Zone, Nocturnal Realm, Media Room, Education Rooms, Coffee Shop, Souvenir Shop and Play Area, the playground and media room is currently shut due to Covid19 restrictions.
Admission Prices:
Adult €12.90
Children (3 and up) €10.80
Family (3 persons) €34.00
(Additional persons €9 thereafter to max of 8 people)
The also have a zoo to you option for schools, parties or family fun days, an adopt an animal programme and VIP experiences.
Have a look for yourself, take a trip, have a day out. We combined this with a visit to Kilkenny City Centre and went for Dinner and trip on a carousel, it was an amazing day all and all.
