Our go to and ultimate favourite place since before Logan was born has always been Newbarn Farm, Ashbourne, Meath which is a Family Run farm.
Just a little background, the farm is owned by William and Yvonne Ruiter, there son Andrew also now works on the farm and you would see him quite often around the place, they have grown their own veg for nearly forty years, they opened the shop in 2004 and then the restaurant in 2011.
Also their facebook pages is quite entertaining and whimsical, have a look here https://www.facebook.com/newbarnfarmer/
They have a restaurant that does the most delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A shop that sells the freshest fruit, veg, meat and spices, and they also sell the most delicious Orange Juice that is freshly squeezed. The Orange Juice is so good that we used to drive up when I was pregnant all the time just for the juice (the cravings was bad and only their juice fixed it ha)
In the shop there is also an antique shop with the most interesting stuff, we do be amazed having a dig through to see what they have.
Obviously our favourite part is the open farm which has a small number of chickens, ducks, pigs, goats, horses and cows. We have been up so much over the years we know the animals by name, they have a huge pig called Oscar who was on a diet one of the days we visited so the name obviously stuck.
All the staff are so friendly and I have been very impressed with how they dealt with the Covid19 regulations, during the height of it they had told people if they are high risk to stay in their car and someone would come out to see what they needed in the shop and deliver it to their car.
They also have a fairly spacious car park so you are never stuck for a spot and did I mention the farm is free.
If you are ever looking for something to do or even some fresh fruit/veg or a spot for lunch I highly recommend Newbarn Farm and all their staff.

Below are some videos we have gotten over the years, Im sure I have more photos I will need to dig out :)
